Frequently Asked

Immigration Questions

Honest answers from an attorney who files with USCIS daily.

Do I really need an immigration attorney?

Immigration law is one of the most complex areas of U.S. law, and small mistakes on a petition or interview can lead to denials, delays, or removal proceedings. Having an experienced attorney protects you from costly errors and gives your case its best chance of success.

How long does the green card process take?

Timelines vary widely by visa type, country of origin, and USCIS backlogs. Family-based marriage cases can take 12–24 months; employment and humanitarian cases can take longer. We give you a realistic timeline at your consultation based on your specific case.

What happens at a USCIS interview?

USCIS officers verify your eligibility and the authenticity of your relationship or claim. Preparation is critical — we walk you through likely questions, documentation, and what to expect so you arrive confident and ready.

Can you help if I'm in deportation / removal proceedings?

Yes. We handle removal defense in Immigration Court, including bond hearings, asylum claims, cancellation of removal, and motions to reopen. Time is critical — call us as soon as you receive a notice to appear.

What is a fiancé (K-1) visa?

The K-1 visa allows the foreign fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen to enter the U.S. for the purpose of getting married within 90 days. After marriage, the K-1 spouse can adjust status to lawful permanent resident. We handle every step of this process.

I was denied before. Can you still help?

Often, yes. Denials can sometimes be overcome through motions to reopen or reconsider, appeals to the BIA, refiling with stronger evidence, or pursuing a different form of relief. We'll review your prior file and tell you honestly what's possible.

What are your fees and do you offer payment plans?

Our fees are reasonable and quoted up front in a clear engagement letter. We offer suitable payment plans you can actually afford because immigration matters shouldn't be denied by cost alone.
